Hello and Welcome! I am sorry to say that today there is no written blog for the draw for 28Apr2017. I shall post the draw, but due to pressing matters over the weekend, I may not be back until Monday. If so, I will at least try to post the draws, and you can make your own best guess! LOL. Alright, here's the draw, and have fun. The deck is \The New Golden Dawn Ritual Tarot* by Chic & Tabatha Cicero. I shall return at the latest on Monday. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!!

Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 27April2017. Today’s spread is yet another mutation off of the original Basic Principles of Alchemy spread,, and this time 2° removed, so really I need to stop calling it now “a mutation” and give this spread (4 cards) a name. I am only doing this because today, in rotation, I’ve pulled an unusual deck, the *Templar Tarot: The Journey” by Allen Chester & Stephen Dafoe. It is a 101-card deck; the extra 23 cards belong to a “progression” called “The Journey,” a sequence that technically comes between the MA and ma, but really is a supernumerary card to reflect where on the Journey the “Templar or Templar-initiate” is on his Path; Birth, Life & Death, each a sequence of 7 cards, and two other cards, 00 and 000, having to do with post-Journey. It’s a complicated deck, and exactly the type I don’t like, with an extra “suit” gratuitously added for no particularly benefic reason. However, I am ambivalent about this one, instead of a flat “No!” – I love the art on the ma and most of the MA, a lot. AND, the “life of the Templar” suite DOES bring up some interesting concept of events upon the journey, key events. So, expanding my morning spread,
I added a card from the Journey “suit.” Whew! Let’s just call it the “Odd deck Spread,” always open to protozoan mutation; not free-form, but nearly. The draw today is: Sulfur = XIX the Sun; Mercury = XVI the Tower; Salt = the Ace of Wands and the Journey = #38 Betrayal. Wow, the draw is colorfully dazzling and conceptually interesting; I’m not reading it tableau-style, but it has that kind of flow to it. Let me tell the story this way: I (Animus) have reached XIX the Sun, and feeling really good and replete with energy and accomplishment; this is success, a realization of ideals, approval and warm interpersonal relations. He’s happy after recent trials, and full of vim & vigor, ready to charge forward and enter the citadel at the top of the hill. Meanwhile, the “Anima me,” “she, her,” is undergoing an upheaval and full reversal of old beliefs. I have NO doubt that she is feeling this way because, to tell the truth, she was lagging just a smidgen behind my Animus, due to late development, entirely my fault for keeping her obscured for so long. She needed “affirmative action.” Well, all fine and good, but no the whammy has hit; she may or may not realize yet that the razing of the
“campus” simply means that a newer and beautiful structure is being built. She HAS to start with clean ground & solid foundations, or a 2nd Tower could occur, and on an advanced level that would be more than catastrophe, it would be annihilation. How are these seemingly contradictory poles to be energized and reconciled? The answer is the Ace of Wands, the Cosmic Egg of Creativity and Spirit. The energy coming from this Ace is inextinguishable, waves and waves for all eternity of creative power and spiritual drive. The raw energy and creative methods will be called upon ad hoc to deal with keeping the two archetypes in step and relatively close throughout the day, because even though they seem directly opposed, XIX can freshly remember being XVI, and can provide Light and Truth to guide the Templar past the falling masonry. Which is all fine and good, but in fact, thought must be devoted to an act that may be appearing on the horizon of manifestation;  Betrayal. The card itself tells the story of Esquin de Floryan, a miserable failure all his life, who as an ex-Templar in the jails of Philip IV le Bel, King of France, sought to weasel around and better his situation. He is the source of all of the blasphemies and slander that started to run and be heard in the streets. His fantastic stories
helped both the Pope’s (Clement V) greed for authority and Philip’s desperate search for more income for his bankrupt and corrupted Treasury. Between Esquin’s foul mouth, the Pope’s fear and Philip’s greed, the Templars were lost. The rest is brutal medieval history. The divinatory meaning of this card is given as: “Betrayal warns us of sudden and abrupt change that provides us with little to no advance warning. It is a card that contrasts the citadel of lies that we allow to build up around us on a false and faulty foundation with the blinding shock when the truth is discovered and the structure begins to collapse. Be wary of that which we perceive to be true or those whom we perceive to be speaking the truth.” (Accompanying eponymous book.) Woo-wee! That “sounds” as if that in the “present” (flexibly defined) I am going to have sort of potassium/oxygen realization and the alembic will burst into flames (the alembic being me!) I haven’t the FAINTEST idea what this could presage, but I’ll hold myself ready, braced against the shocking truth. What that shocking truth maybe I have no idea, (well, maybe, but nah, that CAN’T be true!) (“Wanna bet, meat sack? Mwuahahaha!!”) I’m joking with myself, as I really DON’T have an idea on the topic, but it could come from anywhere, even inside of me. I certainly hope not – that would indicate I’m still suffering from serious ignorance somewhere along my route. As I said, I hope not. I ask the Cosmos today to give us ALL an advance warning of betrayal if it is appropriate. Be well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!!

Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 26April2017. It is the usual morning spread, and today’s deck is one of my very favorites, *The Hermetic Tarot* by Godfrey Dowson, (LWB w/ Dowson/Kaplan.) From the review by Benebell Wen on Aeclectic.net; “The Hermetic Tarot by Godfrey Dowson is a masterpiece. The tone of the deck and Dowson’s artwork invokes the full spectrum of powers within the tarot practitioner for spiritual divinatory work. As a Golden Dawn study deck, the card images are fundamentally focused on alchemical and astrological references, with the deck outfitted for theurgy. It can be integrated into personal rituals, meditations, and ceremonies and in fact is probably far better suited for such work than, say, the Marseille, Rider-Waite-Smith, or even the Thoth decks.” Those are just some of the reasons I love this deck. Not a beginner’s deck. Onward & Upward! The draw this morning was: Sulfur = XVII the Star; Mercury = II the High Priestess, and Salt = the Knight of Cups. This is NOT a tableau reading, eh? LOL. It is, however, a damn fine reading for the start of the day. 2 females and a male, supposedly one of the most stable emotional triads, (or so says the theory, not the experience!) Ha. Well, our first lady is certainly attractive! One of my very favorites among the Sacred Tarot because she always shows the way to that last refuge of the downcast and depressed, Hope. Someone on Facebook asked me the other day for a “simple” idea to get across to clients. I said, “Hope, Serenity, Calm” or something like that; she went on – it became apparent that she was a shit-stirrer, an “emmerdeuse” in French, and I thought, “No, not this time.” I replied, “Work it out, girl” and that was that.
I admit my hope wavered for an instant; “The tide of Ignorance is vast, a tsunami, and the clued-in are very few. Jeezuz wept.” However, as the cliché goes, “Hope springs eternal,” and indeed mine rebounded when she simply said, “Thank you” and stopped there. I have done some INCREDIBLY stupid things during my life, but I have lived by the precept of “Have no regrets.” I credit that largely to my inextinguishable wellspring of Hope. Hope in the future, Hope in Me, Hope in God. And the sincere hope that I don’t destroy myself before I reach where I have wanted to go all along. A bit more about XVII from the LWB; "The Daughter of the Firmament; Tzaddi. Fish hook. The seven-pointed star of Venus, surrounded in turn by seven more stars each also bearing seven points, shines above the waters of Aquarius. The smaller stars appear as symbols for the sacred planets. Each Sephiroth of the Tree of Life appears in the form of a black and white quartered disc representing both day and night hours, so one can select the most suitable time for completion of the work. The dove of Hermes hovers effortlessly above the Tree of Knowledge giving promise of ultimate attainment. In front of the dove is the mathematical (sic: geometrical?) conception of the shape of the universe." (LWB) BTW, if you remember, this is where my Mercury was yesterday, so it seems as if she’s given Sulfur the hint to brush-up on his understanding of the Star. Fine & Good,” said the happy-go-lucky Hope addict. LOL. Onward . . . where we meet my Mercury for today, II the High Priestess. Anima’s going deep, Deep, DEEP to recharge ALL of her batteries for the upcoming evolution, whatever it may be. Good deal, Lucille. There is SO much written about and flibbertygibbetted about II the High Priestess and everyone has an individual version. Here, again, from the LWB is the creator’s vision of her; “"The Priestess of the Silver Star. Gimel. Camel. The moon appears above the seated priestly figure of Isis [my II-HP.] The Eternal Virgin. She is adorned in the purest feminine light of the moon., the same light that serves as a veil to hide the Eternal Spirit. . . she controls the very source of life and the means of manifestation itself. . . The High Priestess controls the energy of life between the two gigantic pillars . . . ." (Ibid) IT seems quite obvious to me that my Anima is up and running to take her place at he forefront of Change, of Evolution, and I am deeply pleased, proud and justified. I WAS wrong to keep her imprisoned, and it IS a wonderful thing to have her as my partner now. I shall leave her (and you) to ponder the thousands and thousands of meanings that have been given to her, while I move on; I find
that the Catalyst for my Sulfur and Mercury is right ahead, with the Knight of Cups. “Lord of Waves and Waters. Fiery part of Water. He rules from 20° Aquarius to 20° Pisces including the greater part of the constellation Pegasus. He is a graceful poet of Venusian indolence.” He is also a terribly strong advocate of "movement" when he is aroused; love and intuition act for him as surely as a clarion call to the Crusades. The application of him today to the two Major Arcana can only help bridge the card-chasm between II and XVII, as well as the totally different styles of the archetypes involved. His strength is necessary to get these two gals to work together, not because they are opposed to each other, but because one comes from Galaxy A and the other from Galaxy R, so to speak. They are conceptually light years apart, yet there is a dim, fine thread running throughout the cards that DOES connect them; The Knight can only amplify that. Well, that’s our round-up today of the wild currents of the universe in local space/time, at least for me. You will be busy little manifesters out thee creating your own eddies and pools in the currents today as well. I ask the Cosmos to give us ALL today a really good “set of oars” and a “compass.” Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!!

Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 25April2017. Today’s spread is the usual Basics Modified, and the deck is *The2 Journey Into Egypt* by Julie Cuccia-Watts. This is a gorgeous deck, with truly oil painting–quality scenes depicted; my BIG problem with this deck is her system of attribution of suits and elements. She reverses Swords to mean Fire, and Wands to mean Air. As well, Fire-West, Earth-North, Water-South & Air-East. I can see, quite clearly and even feel the logic behind making Swords carry Fire and Wands symbolizing Air, it makes a patterned sense, but that coupled with her own astrology leaves me cool-to-cold. I am NOT an expert in Egyptian astrology, but I am learning in the course of my studies on the studies of the Egyptian priesthood. My curriculum hasn’t reached astronomy/astrology yet; I’m still in composed offering-hymns and naming rituals. However, it just doesn’t feel right.
99.95% of Tarot tradition doesn’t agree with her; however, if we are going to give her deck a sporting chance, we go with it for the moment. {{Sigh.}} www.aeclectic.net has this to say about the deck; “The Journey into Egypt Tarot features 78 dynamic, highly realistic images from the talented artist, Julie Cuccia-Watts. It blends the Ancient Egyptian calendar, her astrological system, and tarot with skill, and is one of the few decks to showcase the diversity of the Ancient Egyptian population.” It DOES blend them with skill; the question is, Are they correct? Hmmm . . . more to come. My draw today is as follows: Sulphur = III the Empress; Mercury = XVII the Star, and Salt = the Ace of Swords. Her astrological system has them ordered thus; the Empress = Full Moon Cycle of Taurus; the Star = Full Moon Cycle of Aquarius and the Ace = Fire/West. Here are Crowley/Raven’s assignments: “Venus in Taurus, standing for fertility and growth, the earth rules Taurus. Planet: Venus. Tree of Life: The axis between Chokmah and Binah. Element: Earth. Number: 3 as the combination of the contrasts to a unity (synthesis, harmony) /// the Star = Jupiter in Aquarius as a symbol for long-sightedness and confidence; or Venus in Pisces standing for the desire for the inscrutable. Zodiac: Aquarius. Tree of Life: From Chokmah to Tiphareth. Element: Air. Number: 17 as the number of hope, expansion of the 7, cross sum is 8. /// the Ace = Tree of Life: Kether through Fire. Astrology: All signs of the Air.” It is almost/basically the same here, but throughout the deck one finds significant “drift.” On to the reading. With my Animus in II the Empress, I can only think that I am re-sourcing “at the teat of Gaia,” so to speak. Her always-flowing cornucopia seems to be where I need to be today; I can even feel it on the basic, physical level. I have the Moon in Taurus, so this is a double feminine trip for the old guy; he feels the need for some serious pampering! Grin. I get it, I know the feeling; not “down,” but just “drawn very thin,” a bit like Frodo used to say that the One Ring affected him in that manner (LotR – Tolkein.)  The Empress will indeed feel welcome today, and I shall leave her palace feeling refreshed and invigorated. My
Anima today is focusing her thoughts on XVII the Star; hoping, perhaps, that the ever-amoral Empress won’t snag me, or I develop a hopeless infatuation? LOL. I doubt it, she knows me intimately; random strong attraction to women isn’t one of my foibles. (I might give the Empress a gem or two, though [grin!] Perhaps a collar of citrines, my favorite stone.) She’s gone to the Water with her Hope; that is perfectly natural, so one assumes that she is not transgressing Nature for some personal reason, but in more of a general “I represent WOMAN” kind of way, she has gone to ask Sothis (Sirius B,) the Dog Star, and the focus of Egyptian astrology, for aide and Hope. As always, he will council her with the wisdom of Thoth (the ibis.) The Temple of Isis at Philae is in the background, above shines Sirius, and to the right is the constellation Aquarius, the Water Bearer. In short, she is in reclusion in prayer, as I am in reclusion in rest. Finally, the energy binding these two together is the Ace of Swords, Fire from the West. Now here is where it would make sense to me if Swords were the intellect, not creativity from Fire. Therefore, I am going to read it as how I understand it; both animus & anima are in the process of reflection, of thinking AND imaging “things to come.” The Sword Ace is, to me, the seed of the Intellect, and it would be, in that case, the process that binds the two together and provides common purpose towards which they can work together off of the same engine, the Ace. (Did you know that there is no plural for either animus or anima in English, in the Jungian sense?)  It is an idiosyncratic reading. It LOOKS and FEELS good, but there is something about it that is nagging at my Intuition. I can’t place it: I suppose the day will reveal it, or so I hope. I ask the Cosmos today to give us ALL a clear reading on our growth necessities today. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!!

Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 24April2017. The spread is as usual and the deck is *Liber T: Tarot of the Eternal Stars* by Andrea Serio & Roberto Negrini (Lo Scarabeo.) “The Tarot of Stars Eternal is a reworking of the Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot by Dante Tarot artist Andrea Serio. The majors are very similar to Crowley's Thoth, but the minors have been expanded and have an emphasis on Decans.” (www.aeclectic.net/tarot.) As you can see, this morning I drew: Sulfur = 0 the Fool; Mercury = XI Lust, and Salt = the Ace of Swords. Right away, I like this reading; starting out as the Fool is always appealing to me. It means that I am all eager & willing to get on down the Path to some new goal, and I’m being rather a whirlwind about it. Kitty biting my leg and my groin shining like the Sun (Kundalini) is right on target, as well. As you may know, we have three resident felines, 2 females & a male, all sterilized, and the elder female and the male are both Tarocats. The one biting my leg there is most likely Rabelais, our eldest and my obsessed stalker; he is known to gently bite me when he is delirious with pleasure (i.e., during a brushing.) The point is, I can slip into this costume quite easily because I like it. Most people DO like to be in on the beginning of an adventure; a great many find that the overture was all they wanted. Not me, as I do truly believe the point IS the Journey. I could go on and get profound and bookish about 0 the Fool, but you can do that on your own; I have to pry a cat off my leg. Back on the Path, I meet my Anima next, in the form of XI Lust (the old XI Strength or Justice.) This cleaves me feeling as if I have no feelings toward it, which I know isn’t true; there always has been something about the general trope of “the-whore-of-Babylon” that has disturbed me, and I honestly can’t name it.
Here, the beauty riding the beast is our symbol of conquering the animal nature, uniting it with our human nature and with the united product forge the way forward with brio. In the ‘Liber T’ canon the advice is to “Mitigate Energy with Love, but make Love devour Everything.” (LWB) I get it, but find the expression of it rather inelegant. “Sigh . . . oh well; just get over yourself, Mark.” Grin. What I see here is an alliance forged by the Ace of Swords between Lust and the Fool that is completely artificial and forced, but working in the short term. Marrying a strong & independent star-woman to a rather scattered and clicking-his-heels type of harlequin court buffoon is bound to result in failure; marriages between nobility & commoner most often do. However, for today they find themselves forced to keep company, and for both the Thinking is: “s/he serves my necessity for the moment; we need each other, right now. As soon as we are past this, however, we can go our separate ways.” It isn’t exactly a Disney movie; they don’t fall in Love and change society to remain together. Nor would I wish them to do such, inasmuch as their expressed Wills have different objectives due to their positions on the Path. He would be marrying his great-aunt, perhaps . . . (Stop it! Stop visualizing it.) From here, the uncomfortable couple striding side by side
on the Path is held together only but strongly by their shared bond of mental focus on their commonality of need. So there IS a link today between my animus and anima; my intelligence. It is also an engine that will power the duo through the day and provide focus for their needs.  As for me, I have absolutely NO problem wielding the Ace of Swords; I have long been accustomed to its weight, feel, edge & responsibility. Now let’s look at their planetary configurations for any dominant bod-y/ies: 0 the Fool: “Pisces going to Aries, on the other hand Uranus/Mercury standing for curiosity, spontaneity, and madness. Element: the Air. Tree of Life: Kether going to Chokmah. Number: 0 as nothing and begin of it all.” “XI Lust: Venus in Leo - the creative development of passion leads to enjoyment and fulfillness. Zodiac: Leo. Tree of Life: The connection between Chesed and Geburah. Element: Fire. Number: 11 as perfect combination of 1 and 2 (the cross sum of 11 is 2)” after which we can overlay the Ace of Swords: “(The roots of the powers of Air) Kether in the Tree of Life. Element: Fire. Astrology: ALL the signs of the Air.” (all from www.corax.com.) “So TWO Fires and an Air; sounds like quite a campfire to me! bring your ectomallows & your karma krackers. Plenty of Earth topping is on hand . . . .” Grin. “Oh! and don’t forget your ayahuasca Water!” Actually, this all sounds like the magic phrase “mini-adventure!” to me, or at least I do hope so. I’ve been awfully housebound for a while now, by choice; going out is a respiratory trial. Nevertheless, when I’m motivated . . .  Will can do ANYTHING. And today the cards tell me mine is ready, willing and waiting. I ask the Cosmos to give us ALL a clear and reasoned direction today. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!!

Good Morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 23April2017. The deck I’m using today is the *Tarot de Marseille: A. Jodorowsky and P. Camoin,” a celebrated restauration by Alexander Jodorowsky. The spread is my usual Basics Modified (Sulfur, Mercury & Salt), composed of 2 MA and 1 Court card or Ace. In turn, they signify the Querent’s Male ‘current’ that day, active and creative/intelligent; the Female ‘current,” passive and emotional/intuitive; finally there is Salt, which is the representative of the Energy that is best used to activate and harmonize the two Major Arcana ‘currents,’ to be the Catalyst. My draw this morning is thus: Sulfur = XV the Devil; Mercury = VII the Chariot, and Salt = the King of Cups. Visually, it is a stunning spread; as well as highly intriguing due to the characters’ regards. The Devil is facing straight out at me, the Charioteer is looking askance at the Devil, and the King of Cups is ignoring both of them and gazing toward the future with an anxious expression. (We already know he’s uncomfortable sitting on the throne; perhaps he is looking at the horologe on the wall and counting the minutes until he can leave the Louvre and get his hot & agitated self over to his mistress’s apartments, those of Diane de Poitiers. Grin, I look to put a context to the tableau if it is possible; it can sometimes reveal hidden connections or paths of thought.) I have a dynamo of a reading here! The energy available “on tap” with the MA cards is so BIG and vibrant; I can certainly understand why the King of Cups is rather disinterested in the whole affair – “Why am I here? You two could give me energy enough to spare, and still be full to the brim.
However, it seems protocol dictates that I must be here; so, don’t mind me if my mind dwells elsewhere.” I rather empathize with the guy; the Duat knows that I spent enough time in my professional life observing “protocol.”  Nevertheless, he could at least pretend a bit better, LOL. But I am putting the pudgy cart before the racing horse(s), so let’s backtrack. XV the Devil is my Sulfur today (LOL,) and I DO hope we are ALL past seeing him as a sort of Evil catch-all. He isn’t; he is the power, vibrancy and urgency of the material world and it is ours to use, wisely or not. Becoming enslaved to one’s own desires is as close as it gets to the medieval concept of “Satan,” whose true name is Lucifer, the Light Bringer. (I cannot allow myself to digress upon the crimes over the centuries of a large clerical state in, but independent of, Rome; you would soon see the equivalent of slavering madness on this page, Grin. Actually, you wouldn’t; I’ve progressed to TOTAL indifference. Unless they start selling off the jewelry . . . J.) At her most highly vexed with me in my much younger days, my mother would get this horrified, stagey look on her face and state, “You are the son of THE DEVIL!” It was extremely hard to refrain from smiling. Mother was given, in devotion, to her public of one, herself. LOL, it makes for amusing memories. The point being that I have NEVER envisioned Lucifer as the ‘jefe’ of The Damnation Gang. And here is a tidbit I’ve never shared: Dante bored the heaven out of me; I much preferred Milton. My point to this WHOLE ramble is that this is an exceeding GOOD card to me; it means my 3D Magus is on duty today. As we gloat a bit in our demi-illusory power, we see my Anima approaching in VII, the Chariot. The obvious and primary reference is to the uniting of the natures of man, harnessing their power together and succeeding in triumphal Action. There are, of course, many
ornaments hanging on this tree; a lover? An oeuvre transmitted? A talented artist? “Conquest?” It can even signify that there is an “awareness of the Cosmos” in the Querent. She seems concerned that the Animus may tarry too long having fun with his bag o’ tricks, and she is fretting, wanting to MOVE. I won’t be long, I assure her and myself; the bag o’ tricks has long lost any county carnival-like charm it had for me. I admit it freely; I abused a great deal of power over the years in my pursuit of God, calm in my soul, and the need to express what I was keeping so firmly imprisoned. I have since found both Moderation (XIV Temperance) and myself far closer to my realization than I had known. My ego had a strong and flourishing root system when I decided to uproot it, and it was a long and laborious battle – I’m still cleaning up and finding deserters in hidden nooks & crevices. Hoping for life yet again, for a system of control over the “inexpressible,” they ran and hid, hoping for a new root system to nourish. “Nah, uh-uh, boys, no more. Now, git!” And if I see them now, more often than not it is their slack gray buttocks fleeing before the Light in the lantern. (Odd image, I know; what can I say?) I have already frothed a bit at the mouth about His Maj there, and I have a good understanding of him, but no sympathy (as opposed to empathy.) I, too, am there; paying now for the non-stop party I gave for around 40 years. I knew the bill would come due; I am surprised to have lived long enough to pay it! Ha! but I had signed the chits all along. I knew. So, when I see a man complaining of his sort when he has no grounds to complain . . . well, it makes me angry. Grow a pair, pal. (Lack of respect has always been one of my hats. Grin.)  This IS actually an exciting draw for me today; I can only regret that being a Sunday somewhat restricts the opportunities for interaction. I ask the Cosmos to give us ALL an opportunity of growth through interaction today. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!!

Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 21Apr2017. The deck today is *Il Lombardi Danneggiato Tarrochi* from Duck Soup (Doug Thornsjo.)  It is a beautiful, fun & different deck to read with and that it does quite well. Today’s draw is: Sulphur = XX Judgement; Mercury = XVI-r the Tower(reversed), and Salt = the Ace of Swords. Well, shit . . . the old lady has phreaked out and gone off the rails, confronted by too much role reversal yesterday, perhaps. I joke; of course, but she does seem to be having a hard time coping today with what she’s been about recently. It’s either that, or she has decided to refuse to advance, until she can rebuild herself in the light of new knowledge, new relationships and accustom herself to the idea that she will not again be alone, but united with the Animus to form the new being. More about this in a minute, but I should take a quick, quick look at XX Judgement. I really don’t have a lot to “reveal;” I’ve been here quite regularly lately, a sign to me that soon (according to a timescale not based on Greenwich ) I WILL actually be here, and ready to cross into the XXI, having finished the liberating process of XX. That’s really all I wish to say today; he and I are friends of long date, ever since I gave up focusing on judging others and began to justly judge myself. XX is an odd card; for what is supposed to be a highly objectivity-inducing card, it only magnifies the personal for me, which is all fine and good, I suppose, having no basis for comparison (I cannot compare myself to myself, and comparisons between 2 people are pointless,
because then it IS highly subjective. Moving on, Little Missy Anima has got her knockers in a twist and is having a full-blown phreak-out meltdown, BLOCKING any useful energies to be had here if she would only pull her head out of her ass and stand upright. The drama queen in me (yes, there is one, but of a smallish off-Broadway stage,) loves that ole’ drama, and she is known to take a small moment and inflate it out of proportion in order to incite other to incite others, etc. And, of course, to sob into the microphone, “Oh, I just KNOW it’s all about Me! Oh boo-hoo.” GRIN. I do limit indulging her, and my limits are getting longer and broader as the years go by. As far as I’m concerned, she’s in an old-age retirement home for elderly drama queens. Let the nurses listen to it.  I can’t just abandon here, however, so a little backtracking is involved to slip an oxygen mask over her face (thank God it covers her mouth!) and give her a helping hand to limp across the border into “Switzerland.” Sigh . . . a man’s work is never done. Grin. Okay, so what is the Energy available to me today to backtrack and bring her out? Well, I can hardly think of a more appropriate one – the Ace of Swords. Here is the essence, the seed, of rationality & logic, the intellectual & mental processes, the very root of intelligence itself. That means it will be the spoken word that gets through to her; rational, calm, reasoning, I can reach through her fear and bring her “up to snuff” by linking on the Intellectual first, in order to grab her wrist and pull her from her own quicksand. Let’s check the relations on the three cards now that they’ve been exposed. XX Judgment is; “If Saturn denotes 'death' and the grave, what more natural than that his counterpart Jupiter should stand for the resurrection from the grave? While Saturn, Lord of the mineral kingdom, is held to 'kill' by his crystallizing effect, Jupiter, Lord of the vegetable kingdom and of all that grows and expands and evolves, leading up to sublimation and elevation, abstraction, etc., afterwards, is first the emblem and function of organic life, later on also those of psychic and spiritual life above the material existence, barren and naked, from which it consequently brings deliverance.” (A. E. Thierens) XVI the Tower-
r; . . . the principles of Uranus and Neptune were not much known in antiquity save that they were the general principles of the Heavens (the Air or also the atmosphere) and the Ocean, and as such we find them in the Pantheon and in the original Tarot, not yet as the much later discovered planets, which personify these general cosmic principles. Later ages added very little, if anything at all, to those original explanations. Still Ouranos and Poseidon were known in Greece as well as Dourga and Varouna in India. And the stone tower struck by a flash of lightning is another version of the legend of Ouranos mutilating his son Chronos, which means, that Heaven is not content with a body of fixed dimensions and form, nor any heavenly force with the limitations put to it by physical authorities or architects. This may warn man, not to build upon physical existence alone or to think himself safe upon a material basis, however high and solid it may appear from a material point of view.” (Ibid.) And we wrap up with the Ace of Swords; “This is the first step of the element of Earth, coming on the First house or ascendant. Of course this has to do with a beginning, a strong outpouring of force, an impulse, and a material one too. Positive activity on the material plane is typically masculine, and this is a very masculine card, perhaps the most of all. There is no negotiation possible with it. It is emphatically 'yes' or 'no.' One of the primary expressions of the masculine is fructification, and the male action is indicated by this card. For the same reason it means germ, seed. And its natural consequence is conception and childbirth, the ace indicating here also the ascendant. In everything this card means the actual beginning in material execution, which at the same time may cut short something else. It may mean decapitation, or any justiciary execution. It signifies of course a decision, the end of uncertainty or twilight.” (Ibid.) I ask the Cosmos to give us ALL the opportunity to unite opposites with intuitive love & understanding today. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!

Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 21April2017. The deck today is *The Tarot of Saqqara* by Donald G. Beaman. This is a favorite deck of mine; however, don’t be misled, it is not an Egyptian Tarot deck, it is a deck in the Egyptian-style, which means that it has the system of a RWS deck with Egyptian art and concepts. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful deck because I find unusual insights in its cards for myself. It’s a glossy, high-end production so there is nothing to complain about on that side of things. My draw for today is: Sulphur = IX the Hermit; Mercury = I the Magus, and Salt = the Ace of Cups. Once again! my Animus/Anima are playing the role reversal game, with this draw (not unfamiliar) turned about and my male Animus is present in IX, the Hermit, a place my Anima usually wants to go, and she is in I the Magus, where the Animus feels as if he is the proprietor. GrinJ.  It’s all for the better, I suppose; I might as well let them “play in the fields of the Lord,” as I intend that for them anyway, ultimately. If I am ever to join them together to complete my soul & Journey, leading them into it bit by bit isn’t the worst idea to come along. Let’s take a look at the choo-choo train today, a single boxcar of sacred cows at a time. IX the Hermit, my Sulphur for today, my Male current, active and ready to run forward, instead finds himself in an oft-remembered previous role of contemplation, study, ‘stillness’. This isn’t the moment “in his cycle” when he rejoins society – I feel that in my bones; he is still solitary at this point, amassing knowledge, meditating, finding ever-truer portals to the Light. ALWAYS SIMPLER, one more simple than the previous,
as I divest myself layer by layer of all of the veils that I have woven between myself and the Light (or that have been woven and cast between us.) “So, turn off the exterior engine, Mark, but keep the inner one alive and turning.”  From there I glide over (ever so unobtrusively, Ha!J) to where my Anima has taken shelter today and she’s already gone from her tent! She is wasting no time getting out there, putting on the leopardskin priest’s robe and greeting the rising sun herself. The minx! J Actually, more power to her; there are SO many areas I need to “force grow” my anima, and taking the lead is one of them. It isn’t her fault, she’s not timid or a coward; I simply & efficiently suppressed her for many, many years, until I awoke to the need for her first separate, then blended existence, at full power, 100% ready to roll. I was taught that behavior from my earliest days; women were dangerous & not to be trusted. I needn’t elaborate. Now, however, thanks to life and the Light, I have learned her value and she flies free, or at least I profoundly hope that she does; she is making all of the appropriate noises as if she is, so I must trust her “word.” (No, I’m not schizophrenic; just aware, now, of what a wonderful & separate entity my female side is, and how much of “me”, the conscious me, comes from her. Being a transvestite showgirl in Patagonia at least taught me that . . . LOLOL.) So, today, she is trying on the accessories of the Magus, and is finding that they are One-size-fits-all, literally. I hope she gets a thrill out of it – it has a lot of bling & flash, but in the end, it is work, simply work, yet on a higher level altogether. If you’d ever had to manifest a pair of size 16 stiletto pumps in Tierra del Fuego, you’d know that! JJ   Finally, between Jack Spratt and Mrs. Spratt here, how are we going to manage to “wipe the platter clean?” (Okay, Norman, cue the hokey wedding-chapel music,) With the power of Love! LOL. No, I don’t really make a joke of it. I believe in it, deeply, with my heart & soul. The trick is, to RECOGNIZE it. “It ain’t what ya think, hunny-bunny.” THAT one took me a frigging LONG time to figure out – what Love is. There is the
Intuition side to this arcanum, as well, but the energy available to me today is in the emotional aspect, I can intuit it as clear as a megawatt spotlight. What’s going on today for “me and my baby” is that, today, we NEED to depend on our mutual love, because we are going places today that have a lot in common (they do, in fact, TONS of things, but for the reading’s purpose, “no,”) but are what seems to be two opposed directions. (BTW, IX is the one of the three cards that make up the Prime Male, so to speak, in the MA; I the Magus; IX the Hermit, and can you guess what the 3rd one is? I’ll leave it to you to find out! Grin.) But to get past the fluff here, let’s remember what this IS – it is the initial cup of Cups, and as such it contains everything, literally EVERYTHING that will grow to be the complete suit. It is full of promise & purity, and to be given this bud-like chalice is both an honor & a responsibility; it is very, very fragile. However, Dare all! drink DEEP, the chance comes along rarely in real life unless you concentrate and make it so; that knowledge is in the Cup, too. Finally, just to prick our curiosity a bit, let’s take a QUICK look at the planetary associations here. IX the Hermit = Saturn as the keeper of the gate, or Saturn in Aquarius, standing for the search of wisdom and the keeping of independence. Zodiac: Virgin. Tree of Life: From Chesed to Tiphareth. Element: Earth. Number: 9 as the number going back into itself (3 x 3). I the Magus = Sun/Mercury in Aries; the sun for power and charisma, Mercury for agility and dexterity. Planet: Mercury. Tree of Life: From Kether to Binah. Element: Air. Number: 1 as symbol for unity (male.) Ace of Cups = (The root of the powers of water) Kether in the Tree of Life Tree of Life: Kether (the eternal, spiritual) through water (the spring of soul.) Astrology: All Signs of Water. I ask the Cosmos to give us all a bit of role-reversal today. Be well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!

Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for the 20April2017. Today the deck is the “Thoth Tarot” by Aleister Crowley. No commentary on him or the deck, there are already reams of it; Google to your heart’s content. Grin. My draw this morning is: Sulphur = XVIII the Moon; Mercury = XV the Devil, and Salt = the Prince of Swords. I am extremely fatigued this morning, so please forgive me if I leave you with the commentary of Raven this morning.                                                                            XVIII - The Moon - Path of Qoph 29 in the Tree of Life; Moon in Scorpio as the dark knowledge of the depths of soul. Zodiac: Pisces. Tree of Life: from Netzach to Malkuth. Element: Water. Number: 18 as the return of the animal (turnus of sun- and moon eclipse) cross sum is the 9 Element: Water. The Moon will lead us into the blackest depths of our soul, into the world of the subconscious, where there are no more words, just images and notions. It represents a journey into the darkest night, a look behind our own face. The Moon isn't the most comfortable trump -
though everybody likes to equate it with the mysteries, rarely someone really enjoys the look into their own abyss, where sometimes the unvarnished truth is not too pleasant. Embarrassingly enough, the Moon tends to show up what we generally ignore, refuse to see, or even deny all the time. But the step has to be taken, for without facing up to darkness, we will never see the light. Unlike most trumps, the Moon has no real negative aspect, but it implies a serious danger. The journey into night could be too much when we're not prepared and we might get lost in our own shadow.” (Raven www.corax.com) Rather surprising for my masculine today, but what the Hell, this card sequence is somewhat of a Chinese finger trap for me; I had the same cards, but reversed polarity, just a few days ago, albeit without the Crowleyian twist & “boot in the ass.” Gliding on, I see that I have XV the Devil as my feminine current today! Ha! Now that’s a switch for me, I must say! Let’s see what Raven may have to say. “XV - The Devil. Path of Ayin 26 in the Tree of Life, Saturn at his dark side. Planet: Moon. Tree of Life: From Tiphareth to Hod. Element: Earth. Number: 15 as the number of the full moon, the cross sum of 15 is 6 (!) Reducing the long story of the Devil to its roots, there was an archangel called Lucifer (Lightbringer) who said 'I'm born to be free - I don't serve!' Later on there was a despotic religion that annihilated everything else, destroyed age old cultures and beliefs, and suppressed natural wisdom and science. Then, the world was provided with perverted rags like Dante’s' 'Divine Comedy', while everything scientific landed in the fire. But for all the 'evil' there was a perfect scapegoat - the devil... In the Tree of Life the
Devil goes from consciousness and harmony to intellect and logic - against all dogma, never caring for rules, freely uncompromising and independent. There are no restrictions, no limitations, nothing is forbidden. The Devil is aware of the darkness; he knows all the shadows and will go on researching even at a high price. In a positive aspect, the Devil tells us to go ahead with whatever we want, even when the results won't be comfortable. Never forget that half of the great scientists in history ended up on a scaffold or were accused of 'heresy'. Therefore, the negative aspect of the card can mean loneliness, misunderstanding, or that someone is outcast and damned. On the other hand of course, it could mean that applying a little restriction here and there wouldn't have been the worst solution. By the way, I don't mean that you should see the Devil as a person, or take the plain image of someone with horns and hoof seriously. The little paragraph above is just to help you to see and use the powerful potential of trump XV in its intended manner. Baudelaire once wrote that: "the devil's best trick was to convince us he doesn't exist". It could certainly be said that the devil has done a good job when we recognize that there actually isn't one...” (Ibid) And finally, opening the cellar door chez moi this morning, I see my engine for the day, the Prince of Swords; “Prince of Swords, (Prince of the chariot of the winds.) Tiphareth in the Tree of Life. Astrology: 21° Capricorn to 20° Aquarius. Element and world: The Air in the Airs of Yetzirah. Tree of Life: Tiphareth. Being Air in Air, the Prince of Swords is the pure manifestation of mind and intellect, full of plans and ideas which on the worst side may disturb and confuse each other, on the best create an inexhaustible spring of creative thoughts. The Prince of Swords is intelligent, idealistic, full of creativity and fluidity, a real Mercurian spirit who often will argue just for the fondness of arguing - and not so much for the arguments themselves. The Prince of Swords can throw himself head over heels into a scientific research, reaching highest levels within a short time and then throw everything away without further notice because something else appears more interesting at the moment. On the dark side, the Prince of Swords lacks both the qualities of Water and Earth; he can easily become unstable, unreliable and extremely moody, using his amount of intelligence to trick himself through life, becoming a master of disguise and cheat.” So that’s my day as seen in the cards today. Well, we’ll see, but I DO tend to lend credence to the Sacred Tarot. I ask the Cosmos to give us all a sense of the sacred in the profane today. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!
Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 19April2017. Basically, there is no explication of my morning draw this morning, due to the fact that I feel asleep under the effects of a WONDERFUL backrub by my wife, and she let me sleep. So, I present to you the deck used anyway, and the draw – it’s fairly easy enough to read, and I invite you to read it yourselves, either to amuse yourself or perhaps to learn a bit more about the interaction of the cards. (Sulfur = XVII “El Destino”, aka Temperance; Mercury = XII “El Colgado” aka The Hanged Man, and Salt = #55 “El Duelo” and I invite you to interpret it by the image.)  Or toss it off into e-nothingness; I am not attached to it; it’s only a day, after all . . . right? LOL. So, on to business: the deck is *El Tarot Egipcio* by Margarita Arnal Moscardó. There is a thick, beautiful accompanying book which is quite
knowledgeable in its presentation of the Hebrew alphabet, as well as other influential aspects on the cards. It is in Spanish, and I am unaware if there is an English or foreign language version; I rather doubt it. I truly like the deck, its imagery is vibrant and alive, and extremely well-executed; I am less crazy about the deductions and theorems given by Ms. Arnal-Moscardó. She is a believer in the ancient Egyptian origin theory on the birth of Tarot, which makes me skeptical of her interpretations. And, as suspected, her “decisions” on what some of the cards mean is totally at odds with my understanding of them. I admit freely that I am not the most knowledgeable
person in the world on Tarot, but I know enough to call a fantasy a fantasy and set its flimsy paper crown aflame. She means well, one can see that, and her setup on how she reads them is interesting, but while her deck is lovely, I find that her mind is not. I remind you, IMHO! This is personal opinion, always, and not judgement. Another may find her the perfect read. With all of that said, here’s your practice Egyptian deck draw. Give ‘em Hell! LOL!! I ask the Cosmos today to give us all a shot of humor in our cards today. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!

Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 18April2017. I’ve used my usual daily spread today, and the deck is the *Samhain Deck of the Bastard: 3rd Edition* by Seven Stars. I don’t use them a lot as I find the framing a bit much, but they are GOOD illustrations; also, today I’m beginning a run of about 16 decks I triaged out of the open stock for re-evaluation; time to face their judge once again to reveal if they are still wanted children, or shall I sell them to the coal factory in Manchester for 2 shillings on the pound (of flesh?) Grin. Actually, the question is “Does it remain in rotation or does it join the damnéd thousands down in the pits of Hell (my storage “cave?”) I can foresee success &/or failure for several of the troops already, but they deserve their fair chance. Today’s draw is: Sulphur = XV the Devil; Mercury = XIX the Sun, and Salt = the Page of Swords. Right of the (rabid) bat, I like this spread this morning. I can perfectly well see my ego rallying to the war cry of materialism today for one reason or another; as a matter of fact, we need to go shopping to restock the kitchen. I’ll have to keep my hands off the Swiss & Belgian chocolates and buying my body weight in fruit, both dried & fresh. Damn. At any rate, I don’t see this card today as any sort of “spiritual backslide,” simply because I don’t feel that way, and if the danger existed on that level, my intuition would be vibrating like a bee in a bonnet. No, I see this today as a “lesser warning,” to keep an eye on my (testosterone-driven) ego when it trots briskly out of the stable this morning; it may have bolting in mind. Grin. Now HERE is where I find that it gets interesting. Aligning themselves against the Devil, XIX the Sun & the Page of Swords look fully prepared to stop Old Nick in his tracks. I know, I know, they are just cards whose expressions never change, but I/Me add individuality to them with MY being, this bright spring morning in the south of France. Therefore I can say that rarely have I see two cards so completely united against a third, it’s really quite astonishing (to me.) My Ego and my Will are very rarely opposed by anyone exterior or myself on the interior, so to see “me” so frankly opposed today is somewhat of a wry shock – I wasn’t aware that my anima had developed such a keen moral eye that she could spot trouble coming before it actually happens. I’m very proud of her for this, even if a bit vexed.
She was under my imperious thumb for a great many years, and when I finally liberated her and asked her to work with me to make a complete being, I knew she would have a great deal of catching-up to do before we could truly walk together, hand in hand, into the future. Her speed has been remarkable. I really shouldn’t be surprised, though, as she IS me, and I’m equally as rapid when performing a task I ardently wish to accomplish. That is human nature. My Page of Swords is a great kid, overflowing with vim & vigor, vitality & impetuousness & “love for the right cause.” Allied to XIX the Sun, which is a SHITLOAD of Energy facing my hapless demon. “He ain’t gonna win this one, pardner.” Writing of my anima, you’ll notice that she feels comfortable enough in XIX to be manifesting it publicly and against me, her livelier half. Grin. To be joined by the Knight of Swords is only a bonus; no doubt she took him on because he’s pretty, and she’s hoping that will distract me. LOL. I believe my wisest counsel today is to cut my losses before they even begin to occur. “No hijinks today, financial or otherwise, Mark; keep a lid on it, pal. The ‘old lady’ is carrying a Howitzer today, XIX the Sun, and she’s got some pretty-but-vacant-looking blond carrying her papers. Watch out – it doesn’t look like indulgence is on the menu today.” Okay, message received. Now, I’m going to give you a few flash points on each card today: XV the Devil - "The goat-like figure recalls the sign Capricorn in which astrology teaches that the planet Mars has its exaltation, the name 'devil' means the evil, as is well known, and this alliteration holds good not only in English. It is the symbol of that which to exoteric human understanding is as much of a malefic nature as Venus is benefic. The counterpart of Venus: Mars, planet of pain and struggle, passion and sex-nature, but also of the energy necessary for the process of formation and generation in Nature. . . .  That sex-nature binds man is a natural fact of a more or less occult order. . . So it has to do with generation in Nature in every sense and kingdom, though astrology teaches that Mars has a special connection with the animal kingdom and animal passion -- passion which drives to the preservation of the body as well as of the race; fighting for existence in both senses of the term. So Mars always figured as the War-lord. Not only sexual energy, but every energy in Nature chains the result to the cause and object to subject. It is unnecessary to work this out any further. We shall be safe in interpreting this card as energy, desire, lust, war, struggle, difficulties, pain, loss, etc. But also as exercise, training; tests to which the personality will be subject." (A. E. Thierens) XIX the Sun - ". . .
it is the destiny of the Supernatural East and the great and holy light which goes before the endless procession of humanity, coming out from the walled garden of the sensitive life and passing on the journey home. The card signifies, therefore, the transit from the manifest light of this world, represented by the glorious sun of earth, to the light of the world to come, which goes before aspiration . . . But the last allusion is again the key to a different form or aspect of the symbolism. The sun is that of consciousness in the spirit - the direct as the antithesis of the reflected light. The characteristic type of humanity has become a little child therein--a child in the sense of simplicity and innocence in the sense of wisdom. In that simplicity, he bears the seal of Nature and of Art; in that innocence, he signifies the restored world. When the self-knowing spirit has dawned in the consciousness above the natural mind, that mind in its renewal leads forth the animal nature in a state of perfect conformity." (A. E. Waite.) The Knight of Swords - "The Martian and Saturnian element on the Third house and on the Eleventh. It is very remarkable, that the first series of meanings in this case hint at the third house, while the so-called reversed meanings bear all the characteristics of the Uranian eleventh house: suddenness, surprise, etc. This element on the house of Air, Gemini and Aquarius, must, of course, denote either intellectual facts or concrete results of intelligence. The latter may be called 'proof' or 'outcome' or exact knowledge. The knowledge of facts may be the fruit of an elementary school curriculum, of journalism, of spying, etc. But it is justly indicated by tradition, that the Martian and Saturnian Gemini-man is a specialist in unlawful knowledge or in knowledge gathered at the cost of much trouble and effort; so it may be also knowledge gathered later in life, university extension. Exact intellectual results may appear as: remarks, observations, notes, etc. When put in the negative there may be investigation, examination, etc. All these are truly the effects of Gemini. There are, moreover, the personalities representing the facts. On account of the eleventh house we shall have to note the same sort of results but more or less reciprocal and sudden, whereas Uranus, lord of this house, accelerates the energy of Mars in this element but is apt to destroy the Saturnian vibrations or at least counteract them. It is quite true, therefore, that this card may represent speaking and acting without sufficient preparation and without dogmatic or very formal outlines: improvisation. Tradition was very correct in this. It could not know that this page, on account of its eleventh house relations, will represent the railway-, tramway- or bus-conductor as well as the constable regulating the traffic, also the warnings of the same." (A. E. Thierens.) I ask the Cosmos to give us clear choices today. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!

Good morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 17April2017. Today’s day is one of my very favorites, the BEST of the Egyptian-style decks, *The Egipcios Kier Tarot” by Iglesias Jañeiro (LWB by Stuart R. Kaplan.) Sr. Jañeiro was a South American mystic of the early 20th century. The spread today is the Basics Modified 2X, as this is an Egyptian deck and, as we spoke about before, this style has no hierarchical suits & rankings, but rather one long suit of minor arcana, so the 3rd card, Salt, is drawn from amongst all of these. I have no need to wax prolific about the deck; it is a masterpiece and a wonder to read. Onward & Upward! This will be relatively short today, on my part, as I look at the “tableau” of the three cards and see an immediately recognizable reading. Today I am again faced with a choice between the sacred and profane, and he is looking at Vice, at which as well the angel’s arrow is aimed. Not the choice I would make, but perhaps the angel will kill the tramp. Grin. Watching to the right is VIII Justice, AKA Ma’at, one of my dearest friends and role-models. To find her gazing at the choice I am being asked to wait, and judging in person my decision, would be enough in any Hall of Judgement and I find it doubly so; rarely have my decisions received such “personal attention” from a direct source such as this. As for the energy that is going on to bind this together,
I have the energy of Ta-urt, the protector of childbirth, mothers and newborn children. I believe the energy she is lending to tie it all together is that energy of pregnancy, of new motherhood, as the first two cards indicate that I am pregnant (with an idea, an action to perform, a truth to state,) and this issue is been watched (and smiled upon?) by the goddess of Right Balance and Pregnancy/Motherhood herself? Wow, heavy hitters hanging out in the birthing chamber. LOL. I don’t fear this kind of birth, being born into what seems to be an Initiation, or so Ta-urt has me believing. This is a highly promising reading; an initiation is approaching, and I should go ahead and “give birth” to it. What follows is just a snippet of background for each of the cards. “VI – The Lovers. From the original meaning of the sign Virgo, the virgin matter of the cosmos or world-ether, to that principle which makes 'lovers' is rather a long step, but we will observe that all these Tarot symbols relate to human points of view and human life in particular, i.e. cosmic principles seen from this particular standpoint which gives more of a practical image than of abstract reasoning, the abstract cosmic significance, however, being imbedded fairly accurately in them. So in the human constitution the sign Virgo means the nervous system and everything acting as an organ as well as the relatively 'virginal matter' which is extracted from the food and will serve to build up the body.
So this house is known to rule health and sickness. It is further known to relate to the principles and materials of our work. And so the card of the Lovers must in the first place symbolize these things.” (A. E. Thierens) Moving, the flaming finger stops to write; “VIII Justice - Whosoever might hesitate before the emblems of this card and think it might as well stand in relation with Libra on account of the idea of 'justice,' generally ascribed to the latter sign, and the balance which the woman holds in her left hand, will do well to consider the systematic relationship existing between all signs of the zodiac or evolutionary cycle. The left hand derives from, while the right hand is instrumental in giving out. Scorpio derives from Libra the balance and the idea of justice, but the sword in the right hand shows, that we have not justice pure and simple, platonic so to speak, but that which has often been called 'avenging justice.' Au fond it is more vengeance than justice
and Scorpio is famous for its tendency to vengeance, in every way and every form. After Libra, the stage of total manifestation, this stage is the taking-back, the first step on the way home, which explains the well-known feature of desire, thirst for experience in this sign, because it wishes to bring home something from the voyage 'westward.' So the card of justice means above all the faculty of desire, higher as well as lower, from the most spiritual or religious longing down to the most crude lust. Sexual experience is one of the most important expressions of it, and we may safely say, that one of the principal significances of the card is sex. Another, principally where sex is sublimated, is occult experience and the psychical side of earth-life in general.” (Ibid) and finally, “XXXVI - the emblem of revivification. It symbolizes the human virtue of carrying out the constant renewal of powers. It is associated with number 9 because by mystical reduction 36 = 3 + 6 = 9. This digit symbolizes the initiate, spiritual healing, humanitarian sense, generosity, surrender to others, selfless nature, unconditional and universal love, compassion and forgiveness, nine months of gestation, fruit, push to start projects and fight for them until its culmination. Astrological correspondence: Mars. This planet governs the initiating force, the will, the tenacity, the courage, the enthusiasm, the energy, the activity. He is famous for his courage and courage, for his attitude of struggle with life, for his ability to make decisions and to take risks in the pursuit of victory and fulfillment of his yearnings. It acts on the impulse that drives us to action, on the energy with which we strive for our goals and purposes. Boldly approach big business and face all the dangers, since you need to continually have goals that you can aspire to. Mars gives the individual the desire to act, to follow a specific direction. It helps to channel the vital force towards a certain path, to overcome all the limitations and obstacles that can be found following our purposes. It represents: the multiplication of own capacities, the birth of the new, the emerging challenges, success in any company.” (LWB by Stuart R. Kaplan) I ask the Cosmos to make us ALL pregnant with possibility today. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!
